Hiro Mizushima

Okay, so recently I was directed to a site called DramaCrazy which has a shitload of Asian dramas on it. Usually, I don’t really like dramas, but they had a bunch of martial arts flicks like Iron Monkey on it, so I knew it could be trusted.

ANYWAYS, this one show, called Zettai Kareshi aka (don’t laugh) Absolute Boyfriend, was listed as one of the top 5 along with iron monkey. So I thought, if it was iron monkey status, it had to be good. So I started watching it and it seemed like a typical Japanese romance story.

Summary:
“ Izawa Riko is a temp worker in search of a boyfriend, and she ends up in possession of a “robot” known as Night Tenjo, who is programmed to be the perfect boyfriend. However, this creates a love triangle with a distinguished young man at her company whom she likes.”

But holy crap. I was SO surprised at how good it was! At first I thought it was WAY too cutesy/typical, but it turned out to be really funny and sincere. And to top it off, the main character begins to fall for her chief, my new asian-boy crush. Which is exactly what led to this pic.

In real life, his name is Hiro Mizushima, and HOLY CRAP is he a cutie. He’s an amazing actor… the character he played in Absolute Boyfriend was the best. He seems irresponsible, lazy, and unmotivated when he actually really cares for his company. At first he seems like a jackass, but he turns out to be a really good guy. And damn his cute/hotness!!!!

I also did this to practice realism… since I haven’t really done any. Besides my pic of Shirley and one other, I really haven’t tried drawing a real person from a reference. And I DEFINITLEY need the practice since I’m taking that super-extreme art class next year where I have to do everything perfect… but yeah. Cute asian boy inspired me.
If any of you know tips/tricks that could help me with realism, please tell me!! Especially on shading.
