Traditional Art / Drawings / Surreal

Another piece for “my mind” series. This was actually done for my psychology teacher since he wrote me a letter of recommendation. He also has the pic “weighs on my mind” in his classroom and wanted another drawing so I did this.

The hair can represent 3 different things:
1. a net or rope, tying the mind down
2. a spider web ensnaring the insect
3. the silk from the cocoon that is holding back the transformed butterfly.

Well i was thinking that since her mind is basically imprisoned inside herself, she is naive to the truth in the world. Her thoughts are very confined and she lacks experience, so she is basically confused about the ideas and life around her. hope that helps.

Oh, very nice. I like how even the earring has the roles reversed in position but mirrored physically, the question mark hanging from the period- what could be, tethered to what is.
